I noticed today in the backyard that the growing tips on my forsythia bushes have sprouted their spring-time buds. Poor little shoots are going to get frozen off and then I suppose the growing tips will be bare and probably dead next spring. They're pretty good-sized plants; I'm not too worried about them -- they'll just get off to a slow start next spring and I'll have to trim the dead tips. But this crazy warm weather!! I love it, but the local flora is getting confused.
